Jerusalem Old City Tour

The Classic Old City Tour offers a thorough introduction to the most theologically and historically significant of the Old City’s landmarks, with an expert guide giving proper context to the sights and sounds. The tour begins with a panoramic view of the Old City on the Mount of Olives. From here, the site of Jesus’ anguish on the Mount of Olives, the tour enters the Old City through the Lions’ Gate, and proceeds through the Via Dolorosa, which culminates in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Afterwards, the group progresses on towards the Jewish Quarter, taking in the Cardo, the main street of Roman Jerusalem, and the Western Wall, the holiest prayer site for the world’s Jews.

Jerusalem Old & New City Tour

Jerusalem tour begins with a panoramic overview of the old and new city of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. The Mount of Olives offers a breathtaking view of the Temple Mount and the entire old city of Jerusalem. We then travel along the Kidron Valley to visit the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus and his disciples prayed the night before his crucifixion. We then proceed to enter the old city via the Armenian Quarter. Our first stop will be the Wailing (Western) Wall. We will then stroll through the local Bazaar to the Christian Quarter to follow the Stations of the Cross, otherwise known as the Via Dolorosa. Our tour guides explain and bring to life every stop along the way to the memorable Church of the Holy Sepulcher, site of the crucifixion. From the Church of the Holy Sepulcher, we walk along the 1700 year-old Byzantine main street, until we reach the Roman Cardo and the renovated Jewish Quarter. We then ascend to Mount Zion and on Saturdays visit the Hall of the Last Supper and David’s Tomb. Leaving the Old City we proceed to tour the new city by car en route to the Yad Vashem Holocaust museum.

Enter the Old city via Jaffa gate and ascend the Wall ramparts for sunset walk. Thereafter enter David’s Citadel, the ancient wall tower built by King Herod to view breathtaking Sound and Light show on the city walls. Drive around the illuminated walls for city overview. Stop at Offel promenade for view of Kidron valley and Mt. of Olives. Continue for further overview of illuminated city before returning to hotels.
