Tourists who are not Israeli citizens shall submit a request for a VAT refund upon their departure from Israel only, for purchases made in Israel according to the applicable regulations and directives.
Tax refund for tourists may be claimed for current purchases only. Tax refund cannot be claimed retroactively for products purchased on previous trips, as was customary in the past.

Goods in checked baggage:
Prior to check in and baggage check, applicant passengers shall present the formal documents and the purchased goods at the VAT counter located on the 3rd floor at the check-in hall across from the information counter.
In order to receive the refund, the stamped document should be presented again at the VAT Refund service desk, located in the Duty Free Hall, entrance of Concourse E.

Incoming flight: The service includes escorting from the passport control to the arrivals hall and quick procedure at the airport. Meeting the passengers at the Mosaic Gate before entrance to the passports hall. Escorting the passengers to a fast track exclusive priority lane access through security checks and passport control. Priority & assistance through customs, passport control, security inspection process, baggage collection, collections of items from duty free (if needed). Prior to check in and baggage check, applicant passengers shall present the formal documents and the purchased goods at the VAT Refund counter located in the Departure Hall at Terminal 3, opposite the Information Desk.

Passengers departing from Terminal 1 โ€“ at the counter opposite Gate 02 in the eastern hall.

The VAT refund will be approved by the clerk, who will stamp the documents. In order to receive the refund, the stamped document should be presented again at the VAT Refund service desk, located in the Duty Free Hall next to the playground.

V.A.T Refund Procedure And General Conditions

According to the arrangement in force in Israel, a tourist (who is not an Israeli citizen and does not hold an Israeli passport) may receive a VAT refund on certain purchases made by him in Israel. In order to claim VAT refund please follow these steps and make sure all of the following terms and conditions are completed:

1. General Conditions: As a non-Israeli citizen or resident you are entitled for VAT refund if you do not hold an Israeli passport and you are visiting Israel as a tourist according to the visa stamped in tour foreign passport. If you prefer not to have your passport stamped/Gate Pass, please keep the form handed for inspection at the VAT refund counter.

2. The purchase was made at a business establishment recognized by the Israel tax authority and the Ministry of Tourism as a business establishment included in the VAT refund arrangement.

3. When making the purchase you must present your passport or passport data in order to be identified as a tourist.

4.The total amount of the of the purchase (in one designated document and one tax invoice) is in excess of NIS 400 including VAT.

5. The goods were purchased for personal use only, and in a noncommercial quantity (10 items max).

6. The goods are not food, drink or tobacco products, in respect of which VAT will not be refunded.

7. VAT will not be refunded for services.

8. The goods have to be exported from Israel with you.

9. VAT will not be refunded after leaving Israel, if did not claim before, in person. 

How To Claim Your Tax Refund

1. Upon arrival to the airport look for VAT REFUND counter.

2. Please present the purchased goods, the invoices and VAT refund forms and your passport for inspection.

3. If the purchased goods are in your baggage to be checked in, please present the goods at VAT REFUND counter prior to check in procedure. After having the forms stamped you can proceed with the check in procedure. The refund will be processed and handled at VAT REFUND counter at the Duty Free lounge.

4. VAT is refunded in the amount paid on the day of the purchase, at its value in one of the following currencies: shekel/dollar/euro, according to the representative exchange rate of the Bank Of Israel on the day of the refund.

5.VAT refund will be paid as requested either in cash, by bank transfer or check to mail address.
