Immigration & Visa

Many countries have a Visa Waiver Program with Israel which allows their citizens to visit Israel without a visa arranged in advance. Before embarking on a trip, visitors desiring to stop in Israel on their way to other destinations must check if they need a prearranged tourist visa.

All Visa Waiver Program travelers must present a machine-readable passport at the port of entry in order to enter Israel without a prearranged visa; otherwise a visa is required.

Arriving Passengers

Arriving passengers arrive at the Terminal 3 building through the Jetways, or by bus (when the aircraft is parked at a remote parking slot). Arrive at the entrance to the border control hall on level G, at the junction point of the connector and the border control Hall. Continue along the connector up to the descent to the border control hall on level G.

The various levels are connected by stairs and escalators, as well as an elevator adapted for passengers with special needs. Passengers with special luggage such as wheelchairs or pushchairs/baby strollers, will receive that luggage in the lobby on the 2nd floor. Arriving Passengers Information

Passport Control

Passport control upon arrival to Israel, visitors need to present their passports and entry forms, forms will be given on board your flight. Visitors to Israel require a passport that is valid for the next six months. You will be asked to complete an entry form during the flight. It is important to fill it in accurately and retain a copy for the end of your tour of Israel. The completed entry form and passport are submitted at border control in Ben Gurion Airport when you arrive.

Your passport will be stamped with an entry visa; you’ll then proceed to baggage claim and customs, after which you’ll be able to exit to the main arrivals hall and arrange for airport transfers. Passport Control Information

Baggage Collection

The Arrivals Hall on level G houses the baggage collection conveyors and customs inspection. Note the electronic signs indicating the conveyor on which luggage from your flight is due to arrive. After collecting your baggage, continue to the customs control and from there to the welcomers’ hall. For your convenience, there are, in the arrivals hall, inter alia:duty Free pick-up counter, to collect duty free items

you purchased prior to your departure from Israel. Please make sure that you do not leave your baggage unattended at any time. The baggage storage and lost and found room is located at the western (“kerem”) short-term parking lot on the ground level (G). The service is free of charge. Customs

There is a two-lane customs transit system, one green and the other red, at Ben Gurion Airport and the various Crossing Points. Visitors who do not have goods to be declared may go through the green lane at the exit from the passenger arrival hall. Articles that do not need to be declared include no more than one quart of hard liquor, two quarts of wine and half a pound of tobacco per person aged 17 and over. In addition, gifts and electronic goods worth no more than $200 can be brought into Israel, as well as no more than 6 pounds of food. Customs Information

A steward/stewardess will accompany the passengers up to the arrivals hall to the waiting driver.

Outgoing flight: Meeting the passengers at Arbel Lounge at Terminal #3. While passengers enjoy light refreshments, beverages and the use of basic office services we take care of all outgoing flight procedures: security check, passport control, flight check in until the boarding time. Departure From Israel

Travelers leaving Israel go through a careful security check, followed by airline check-in. Once you’ve finished passport control, enjoy the duty-free shops located in and around the central rotunda, in addition to your last good cup of Israeli espresso. There is also a synagogue in the main terminal. Moving sidewalks lead from the central rotunda to all departure gates. Passengers with special needs can request extra assistance upon arrival at the airport as needed. Entrance To The Terminal

It is recommended to obtain updated details of you flight such as takeoff time, security check area and check-in counter through the voice response at (03) 972-3332. Description of the entrance to the terminal at the entrance to the terminal is the multi level bridge leading to the terminal. Levels of the bridge: Level 3, upper level – for departing passengers Level 2, middle level – for public transport Level G, ground level – for arriving and departing passengers.

Level S, lower level – railway station. On Level 3 (where the Check-In Hall is located), there are 6 lanes The 3 lanes closest to the terminal are for private vehicles. The other 3 lanes are for buses and organized groups. Signposts along the road will direct you.

Flight Check-In

These processes are carried out, for the majority of passengers, in the check-In hall on level 3. Occasionally, as needed, the security check and check-in of additional airlines are carried out in the greeters’ hall on level G. We recommend that you verify the exact location for these procedures for your specific flight, before arriving at the airport terminal.

Economy Class Passengers – You should arrive at the check-in counters 3 hours before the scheduled departure time as listed on the flight ticket.

Business Class and VIPs service passengers and First Class Passengers -You should arrive at the check-in counters 2 hours before the scheduled departure time as listed on the flight ticket. Check-in for Israel travel flights closes about one hour before departure. Late passengers will not be able to check in once their flight has closed. The boarding gates close about 15 minutes before take-off. Late passengers will not be accepted for the flight.

Security Check

The role of the security department in The Ben Gurion Airport is to secure the airport and to make sure that all departing and arriving passengers may do so safely. Security checks are made while using advanced technological devices. Airport Security checks are routinely carried out for your protection and safety.

Passport Control

Passport Control is carried out after the security check of hand luggage, in the departures hall. This is where you present your passport, boarding pass and, where applicable, the foreign visitor’s form that you filled out upon arrival in Israel. make sure to arrive with an updated passport for at least three months,

In each concourse there are 8 gates linked to the aircraft by a boarding bridge and marked appropriately. For example: B1, B2 etc.

Car Hire

The car rental companies’ counters are located on the first floor of the Eastern Gallery in the Greeters Hall. The service is provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The process of collecting or returning a rented car is handled in the car rental site located next to the UPS building. Shuttle: The rental companies operate a shuttle service between Terminal 3 and the car rental site, and from the site to Terminal 3. The shuttle stop is located on Level G of Terminal 3. The service is provided by the rental companies and is their responsibility.

Currency Exchange

The israeli Shekel (NIS) is divided into 100 cents (agorot).The money in circulation is as follows: Metal coins (1 agora=NIS 0.01) 5,10,50 agorot coins.1,2,5,10 Shekl coins; Paper Bills the Shekel appears in bills in values of 20,50 100 and 200. Bank Hapoalim and change place provide foreign currency services. Disabled Passengers

Terminal 3 was designed so as to enable disabled passengers to enjoy all the airport’s services under their own steam and in person. Likewise, special facilities were adapted for the use of disabled passengers, such as wide and accessorized toilet stalls, lowered telephones and drinking fountains. In any case where assistance is required, please notify in advance in accordance with the regulations of the various airlines. We provide assistance to passengers and wheelchairs up to the aircraft door or the arrivals hall. This makes for a smooth, efficient and convenient boarding/disembarking for passengers. V.A.T Refund

Tourists who purchase $100 worth of goods or more at shops registered with the Ministry of Tourism, are entitled to a discount and to a V.A.T refund upon their departure from Israel. The refund may be obtained at the change place counter in the Rotunda, where you will be required to display the goods that you purchased and the invoices you received.
